Migrate MySql database to Oracle

0

I'm trying to migrate a MySql database to Oracle. I followed all the guides from Oracle (the video one here and the textual one here) using SQL Developer.

I can go through the whole guide (after few tentatives) with no problem, resulting in the creation of the "Converted Object" (note: I don't have permission to create users).

I'm completely new to Oracle DBMS, and I don't understand what to do with the "Converted Object" generated in the migration repository.

How can I create the tables in the DB from the migration repository objects?

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

  • at that point you should be able to generate a script that you can run in an existing oracle schema since you don't have the privs to create users in Oracle

After more reaserching and thank to @thatjeffsmith comment I found out the problem(s): the SQL script generated from Oracle SQL Developer is bugged: duplicated fields in creation of contrainsts, creation of non-existing indexes (also with duplicated fields) and a field with invalid name (a MySql columun start was renamed in start_, that is invalid).

It was hard to spot because of the wizard did not prompt any error and went smooth just like the video/tutorial.
