LDAP Database representation

0

I have to make a centralized repository for appliance configurations.
We planned to use LDAP as it's already present to provide centralized auths on our embedded system.

I'm facing some issues translating the schema. In 'relational' model my data model should look like this:

Configuration(ID,Project, version, valid_since, notes) as C -- configuration for entire project
Appliance (C_ID, ID, ProductName, vaild_since, notes) as PR FK: C_ID References C.id -- configuration for single product in the project
Program (P_ID, ID, release, valid_since, notes) as PG FK: C_ID References PR.ID -- configuration for single piece of software in the product
File (PG_ID, ID, filename, version, user_modified,file_path_on_NFS ,notes) as F FK Pr.ID

Can someone please help me translating (I'm new to LDAP).

I'm not sure that an LDAP app can be considered a database (and even yourself refer to it as a "repository"), and LDAP itself is not a database management system, so perhaps posting this question on another Stack Exchange site would be more fitting.

  • What I'm trying to draw is a schema for data representation, who but data designers could face a schema 'design' problem. Anyway what community do you think would fit best?
